Flydone MT2 PRO Deep Dive

The Flydone MT2 PRO isn't just an upgrade to the MT2 — it's a fundamentally different machine. With a 6000W peak mid-drive motor, 60V 27Ah removable battery, 17"/14" knobby tires, and a gyro-assisted wheelie mode, this is the most capable electric dirt bike Flydone has ever built.

We've spent weeks riding the MT2 PRO on everything from tight forest singletracks to open desert washes. Here's what we found.

The Motor: Mid-Drive Done Right

The MT2 PRO's 6000W peak mid-drive motor is the heart of the machine. Unlike hub motors that sit in the rear wheel, the mid-drive placement keeps mass centralized for balanced handling on technical trails.

What does 220N·m of rear-wheel torque feel like? It means you can climb a 30-degree incline in loose dirt without momentum. It means wheelies happen with a casual twist of the wrist. It means the bike pulls hard out of corners instead of bogging down.

Three speed modes give you precise control:

  • Eco Mode: Smooth, predictable power for beginners and tight technical sections
  • Normal Mode: Balanced power delivery for general trail riding
  • Sport Mode: Full 6000W unleashed. Aggressive throttle response for experienced riders who want maximum excitement
Real-world test: On a steep, rocky 400-meter climb that our test 250cc gas bike struggled with in second gear, the MT2 PRO in Sport Mode walked up effortlessly in Normal mode. No clutch slipping, no engine bogging — just torque.

The Battery: 60V 27Ah, Removable, and Smart

The upgraded 60V 27Ah battery is a significant step up from the standard MT2's 48V 22.5Ah pack. Here's what the extra voltage and capacity translate to:

Scenario Estimated Range
Eco mode, smooth trails 70–85 km
Normal mode, mixed terrain 50–65 km
Sport mode, aggressive riding 35–50 km

The removable design is a genuine game-changer. Pull the battery out, carry it inside, and charge from any standard outlet. No garage? No problem. For riders who want all-day adventures, a spare battery doubles your range instantly.

The advanced Battery Management System (BMS) protects against overcharging, overheating, and deep discharge — so you can focus on the trail instead of battery anxiety.

The Tires: 17"/14" Knobby Setup

The MT2 PRO upgrades from the MT2's 14"/12" setup to 17" front / 14" rear knobby tires. The larger front wheel rolls over rocks, roots, and ruts with significantly more confidence. The aggressive tread pattern grips loose dirt, sand, and mud where smoother tires would slip.

On our test course, the MT2 PRO cleared obstacles that caught the standard MT2's smaller front wheel. The difference isn't subtle — it's the kind of upgrade that lets you ride faster with less hesitation.

Suspension & Brakes: Built for Impact

Inverted Hydraulic Front Forks

The inverted (upside-down) fork design is stiffer and more responsive than conventional forks. It absorbs heavy impacts on rough downhills and maintains composure when landing jumps. For aggressive riders, this is the suspension setup you want.

Rear Spring Suspension

The rear shock soaks up rocks, roots, and whoops without bottoming out. preload is adjustable to match rider weight and terrain stiffness.

Dual Hydraulic Disc Brakes + Regenerative Braking

Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes deliver confident stopping power even on loose terrain. The electronic regenerative braking system captures energy during deceleration and feeds it back to the battery — extending range while reducing brake pad wear.

Wheelie Mode with Gyro Assist (15°–60°)

This is the feature that gets the most attention — and for good reason.

The MT2 PRO's adjustable gyro assist helps maintain balance during wheelies by actively stabilizing the bike at your chosen angle (anywhere from 15° to 60°). For beginners, it's a confidence-building tool that lets you practice wheelies safely without the fear of looping out. For experienced riders, it's a precision tool for refining technique.

Does it "do the work for you"? Not at all. You still control throttle, body position, and balance. The gyro simply provides a safety net — like training wheels for wheelies that you can gradually dial back as your skills improve.

Unibody High-Carbon Steel Frame

Most dirt bikes use frames with multiple weld points and bolted connections — stress concentrators that can crack under hard impacts. The MT2 PRO is engineered with a one-piece integrated high-carbon steel alloy frame: zero weld points, zero bolt-together connections.

The result is exceptional structural rigidity and impact resistance. When you case a jump or clip a rock at speed, the frame absorbs and distributes the force instead of concentrating it at a weak point. It's overbuilt by design — because trails are unforgiving.

NFC Keyless Start

Tap your NFC card or phone against the sensor, and the bike unlocks instantly. No keys to lose, no ignition switch to fumble with while wearing gloves. In our testing, the NFC reader worked flawlessly even with muddy gloves in light rain.
